TEMS Symphony Suite Training – 1 day (excl. Installation)

Course Description

Description:

TEMS™ Symphony, Ascom Network Testing’s highly configurable wireless network Benchmarking solution, enables engineers to run benchmarking campaigns and drive test in a quick, easy, and cost-effective manner.

This one-day course covers the TEMS Sypmhony features that engineers need to prepare so they can adequately operate and configure the system. It is aimed at a higher skill level of intermediate to expert. Comprehensive description and system feature demonstration will help the students understand the tools work flow to extract and interpret any relevant information.

Learning Objectives:

After completion of this training, the participant should be able to:

• Configure the Symphony data acquisition equipment to measure mobile radio network systems on various technologies (GSM / GRPS-EDGE / WCDMA – HSPA / LTE)
• Understand general KPI’s for Voice, Data, SMS, MMS and VT tests and configure adequate related measurement scenarios

Target Audience:

The target audience for this course is primarily for service deployment engineers, system engineers, and service engineers, but also radio network optimizers, cell planners, service planning engineers, service design engineers, network design engineers, network deployment engineers.

Prerequisites:

The participants should have the related technology competence as radio network terms are used extensively during the training. In addition, we ask that you provide us the contact details of a local coordinator with whom Ascom can liaise to organize the training.

Duration and class size:

The duration of the course is 1 day and the maximum number of participants is 10. It comes together with system commissioning of the equipment that is performed before the classroom to take place. Usually sold as a 3 days service but depends on the number of systems to commission.

• An overview of Symphony equipment for data acquisition and data post-processing Call Handling with Symphony
• Differentiate the call markers and the related call status
• Know the reason behind a failed or a dropped call
• Describe EMC Signaling
• Define the 2 types of calls (MOC/MTC)

Speech Quality Evaluation
• Describe what MOS is
• Understand how the MOS analysis is done in Symphony
• Classify the Speech
• Quality regarding the received
• MOS value

Hardware and Software description
• Know the different hardware components of Symphony Suite
• Know the different handsets used with Symphony Suite
• Explain the Symphony software structure

System Configuration and Operation
• Hardware component interactions
• Configure the editors and create a measurement job
• Import own maps
• Display the measurement values
• Configure a workspace
• Export the measurement files

Overall Objective:

After the completion of the course, the participant will have a comprehensive background in the capabilities and usage of TEMS™ Symphony Suite.
